El acuerdo suscrito entre la UE y el Reino Unido a finales del pasado mes de diciembre ha permitido dar continuidad a la actividad del transporte por carretera pero ralentizada por los nuevos trámites burocráticos exigidos a los transportistas en los controles fronterizos y aduaneros, lo que está desincentivándoles a realizar dicha ruta, especialmente en las importaciones desde el Reino Unido. Dicha situación ha obligado al Gobierno británico a flexibilizar al menos hasta el 31 de marzo la regulación sobre los tiempos de conducción y descanso en los servicios de transporte realizados en dicho país, según informa Fenadismer.
Fenadismer advierte de que “si bien el acuerdo suscrito entre la Unión europea y el Reino Unido a finales del pasado mes de diciembre ha permitido dar continuidad a los flujos comerciales entre los diferentes países de la Unión Europea y el país británico tras la finalización del período transitorio el pasado 31 de diciembre, el establecimiento de los nuevos controles fronterizos y aduaneros está afectando negativamente a la prestación de los servicios de transporte por carretera, al ralentizarse de forma importante la actividad de los camiones que realizan dichos servicios. De hecho, aunque el Acuerdo post Brexit prevé el acceso ilimitado al transporte internacional sin cuotas ni imitaciones de cupo para las empresas transportistas que transportan mercancías por carretera entre la UE y el Reino Unido, sin embargo la obligación de realizar nuevos trámites burocráticos, la falta de información clara sobre los procedimientos a seguir y la ralentización que están sufriendo los camiones que prestan dichos servicios, con el consiguiente incremento de los costes, está desincentivando a muchos transportistas españoles y de otros países europeos a continuar realizando tráficos a dicho país, especialmente en el transporte de mercancía británica hacia el continente, optando por elegir destinos más cómodos y de mayor rentabilidad en el resto de Europa”.
Esta situación ha obligado al Gobierno británico a flexibilizar, al menoshasta el próximo 31 de marzo, la regulación sobre tiempos de conducción y descanso que deben cumplir los conductores profesionales mediante eltacógrafo, permitiendo que puedan tomar seguidos los descansos semanales reducidos para poder realizar jornadas semanales de 6 días consecutivos e incrementando el tiempo máximo de conducción bisemanal hasta las 96 horas, entre otras.
